Stephen (Steve) N. Palmer, PhD, ELS

Stephen (Steve) N. Palmer, PhD, ELS, is President of the Board of Editors in the Life Sciences (BELS) for 2024-2025. After serving as chair of BELS’s Nominations Committee in 2020-2021 and chairing the Appeals Committee in 2021-2022, Steve became President-Elect in 2023. He has been a member of BELS since he earned his ELS certification in 2004.

Steve is manager of the Department of Scientific Publications and a senior scientific medical writer at The Texas Heart Institute in Houston. He earned a PhD in social and health psychology at the State University of New York at Stony Brook, and he holds a BA from Wesleyan University.
